The Day is a newspaper published in New London, CT From The Day, on December 26, 1902: Dudley Brown, a resident of the Stonington Road district, built an automobile which he drove around town causing many horse owners to complain because the vehicle was reported to make about as much noise as a nail factory. The wheels of the machine were formerly used on mowing machines and the body was made from rough lumber. The motive power was a steam engine formerly employed to operate a thrashing machine. For many years my sister Bev and I have been working on our genealogy. We get fired up about something and work it, and then leave it for many months... we are currently looking for a particular piece of info and I ran across this article again. It makes me laugh, I can just envision this, its one of our great grandfathers the article was written about... Id luv to find a pic, lol
