The Dentists are planning something of a reunion gig for January 3rd at The Barge, Gillingham, UK. This will not be on the scale of their official reunion shows in London and Gillingham back in March 2010. For one thing, The Barge is a relatively small neighborhood pub and doesnt lend itself easily to a rip chord pulling rock and roll show....something a BIT more sedate, I expect. For another, the show will not feature lead singer, Mick Murphy. Mick lives in Kenya now and generally cant be bothered. Enter the primary reason for this post. The lads have invited some friends to fill in for Mr. Murphy including yours truly Lemming. I am very happy and excited to say I have accepted! I got the chance to perform with the entire band once before when they invited me on stage in July 1992 at the Khyber in Philly to sing She Dazzled Me With Basil (a lemming fan favorite). I also had the great pleasure of performing with Bob Collins this time last year when I visited Gillingham. Bob, lead guitarist and principal song writer in the Dentists, you may recall, helped us finish the arrangement on our song Doing Time On Placid Drive. More details as they become available but, needless to say, any friends who might be in the UK at the holidays are keenly encouraged to put it in their plans. Gillingham and Rochester and ALL the Medway. Towns are a must visit on ANY UK trip. Keep Treading! Quinn
