The Diocesan study days this week had the theme Transformation. Fr. Robs words were so profound given Fr. Dareks persistent reminder to us to look to the cross. Fr. Rob told us, in his reflection prior to Benediction, that at a point of great grief after the death of his father, he was asked, “Can you stand at the foot of the cross and wait, while others run away?” To this, one is compelled to reply Yes Lord!. Yet there is also a realization that to stand at the foot of the cross means to watch in complete helplessness as the body of Christ dies in agony, not knowing that rebirth is only a few days away. May God grants us all the grace to stand vigil before the cross of Christ!
