The EFF sends revolutionary condolences on the passing of Mbulaeni Mulaudzi 25 October 2014 The Economic Freedom Fighters sends its revolutionary condolences on the passing of the African son of the soil, Mbulaeni Muluadzi. Mulaudzi’s untimely passing due to a car accident, took the life of an accomplished Athlete, a role model and son of the soil. This is the black South African athletics hero who carried the flag for our country at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Mulaudzi was the World Men’s 800 metres champion in 2009, making him the first black athlete in South Africa to achieve a number one ranking in the world. He also won the 800m at the 2002 Commonwealth championships. In 2003, he won a bronze medal at the World Championships and a silver medal at the All-Africa Games. Mulaudzi also won the World Indoor Championships 800m in 2004, followed by a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics. His soul rests on a legacy, a historic record that will never be unmade. The EFF salutes him as a hero of the soil whose life will continue to inspire many generations to come. May the family, close friends and all South Africans be comforted by this fact. Above all may his soul rest in perfect and revolutionary peace; the same peace his athletic achievement brought to the country and all black peoples of the world.
