The Equalizer... based on an old television series has now become a film starring Denzel Washington. Denzel who spent months with hand to hand experts for the filming The Book of Eli, now puts all of that training and more to good use as a white Knight in a land that has forgotten that might can be wielded in the name of justice. Denzels performance is spot on of a man that has lost his way but finds it again thanks to a young girl played by Chloe Grace Moretz who was featured in the Kick Ass films as Hit Girl. In the Equalizer Chloe takes most of the hits and this is what eventually rouses Denzel from his stupor, just plodding through his life with practiced routine. The bad guys in Equalizer are portrayed so starkly as evil that it is not difficult to root for their eventual demise at the hands of the avenger. The ending is satisfying and clearly meant as foreshadowing of a sequel film. Equalizer has already done much better box office than traditional films made from humble television origins, not doubt due to Denzels appeal as a true Hollywood star. I would give this 9 out of 10 Stars though the film with its graphic portrayal of violence is not suited for children or the weak stomach. https://youtube/watch?v=jAI7rF0eQyQ
