Jules Bianchi’s Marussia aquaplaned in the worsening conditions and slid off the circuit and hit the recovery vehicle that was removing Adrian Sutil’s Sauber which had suffered the same fate just a lap before. Bianchi’s car smashed into the tractor which left Bianchi with severe head trauma and he was taken to hospital where they performed emergency surgery to his head. At this stage he is in a critical condition.
