The FAA needs to approve a GPS aircraft transponder/elt that can never be turned off by anyone and that works on the magetos if an electrical failure occurred with a back up battery pack for constant position beaconing. (SkyLink) I call it, is mounted on top of the rudder (the highest point of the aircraft) and unlike a regular transponder does not work only on line of sight, but works on GPS and line of site radar. The benefits with (Skylink) for 1, all aircraft and ATCs anywhere in the world would be in the same book on the same page at all times with any aircrafts position , 2ndly substantially reducing search and rescue cost by establishing constant pro-active aircraft positioning and providing a know search and rescue position within 5 seconds not hours or days and pin pointed to 10 feet rather than 10,000 miles Skylink will eliminate human error/influence by keeping the gps location electronics out of the cockpit and in the rudder and 5th the Skylink transponder unit will be assembled right here in the United States of America. cbsnews/news/malaysia-airlines-flight-370-focus-shifts-to-flight-crew/
