The Falcons have a fascinating history. Eddie Floyd was in the group at its inception in 1955. In 1957, he was joined by Mack Rice (composer of Mustang Sally) and Joe Stubbs (Levi Stubbs brother). Wilson Pickett replaced Stubbs in 1960. Their 1959 recording of Youre So Fine is sometimes cited as the first Soul record (I lean toward the Impressions in 1958 with For Your Precious Love - but that may be my Chicago bias). The B-side, Goddess Of Angels, strikes me as owing more to the Inkspots than to Ray Charles. https://youtube/watch?v=wfSuJp1N7o4
