The Farm Bill just passed by the House and Senate is a far cry from the kind of comprehensive agricultural reform that family farmers and taxpayers deserve. It takes food away from hungry people to help pay for subsidies to multi-billionaires, and it misses an opportunity to reform large taxpayer subsidies that go to a few, very large agribusinesses. I voted against the bill because it could have been more responsive to the needs of our family farmers and more responsible to American taxpayers.
