The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commis sion (FWC) is seeking feedback from cruising boaters, local boaters and other residents in evaluating the state’s pilot anchoring and mooring program, which set up a series of test rules. The Florida Keys are one of five statewide sites the FWC selected to administer the pilot program. FWC has posted a brief online survey on its website to accept feedback. The survey should take about five to 10 minutes to complete and is available to the public through Oct. 7, FWC officials said this week. Input from the surveys will be used to evaluate the pilot program and improve boating in Florida, the officials said. The Florida Legislature established the anchoring and mooring pilot program in 2009. The intent was to explore potential options for regulating the anchoring or mooring of non-live-aboard vessels outside the marked boundaries of public mooring fields throughout the state.
