The Fugitive has had more than one life in the performing arts medium, and might be confusing to some not failure with any of them of just one of them. The three are: The Fugitive (1947 film), The Fugitive (TV series) and The Fugitive (1993 film). The Fugitive (1947 film), based on a novel by Graham Greene, starring Henry Fonda and Dolores del Rio, directed by John Ford and was filmed in Mexico. In this Fugitive a nameless priest is a fugitive in an unnamed Latin American country where religion is outlawed. The priest is captured and sentenced to death, which brings a great out pouring of concern for him and helps to keep religion alive instead of stamping it out like the state wished. The only similarity with the Classic TV Fugitive show is a man unjustly hunted down by the authorities. The Fugitive (TV series), an American network television dramatic series (aired on ABC 1963–1967; remade for CBS in 2000) -- This fan group is devoted to this, the classic 1963 - 67 TV series The Fugitive (1993 film), a film based on the television series, starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. This remake film was based on the 1960s television series of the same name created by Roy Huggins. This thriller was somewhat a success at the box office, and was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, a rarity for a film associated with a television series. Jones won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. The plot paralleled the Classic 1963 - 67 TV series more than the other two, including the remake TV series of 2000, which had limited success and was canceled after on year. Happy Viewing Fans!
