The General View of the Day is: · Sign in and pick up packet – in the atrium – 9am · Find your “pit” table – in the atrium · Opening ceremony – in the auditorium – 9:30am · Attend each of the three judging sessions – Knall, Goodrich/Houk, Riley rooms · Practice sessions on practice tables in the Learning Curve · Lunch – 3 sessions, so look for your numbers – in room #194 which is on the lower level and down a hallway – 11:30, 12, 12:30 · Robot Games – in the auditorium – 1pm – 4:10 · Closing ceremony & awards – 4:15pm We hope we have placed signs in areas to help you figure out where you’re going. Central Library is a large building. Almost everything happens on the 2nd floor (which seems like the 1st floor because it is the main floor) with the exception of lunch which happens on the actual 1st floor. The items in the list above that are in blue overlap in time, so refer to the schedule to see if you’re supposed to be somewhere. Arrival and Parking Your best option for parking is the Library’s parking garage. The fees are: 0 – 1 Hour $1.00 1 – 2 Hours $2.00 2 – 4 Hours $3.00 4 – 8 Hours $5.00 8 – 12 Hours $12.00 Day rate (12+hours) $24.00 You will probably be at the Library between 4-8 hours. The best approach to the Central Library to enter the parking garage is from the north because the parking garage entrance is on Pennsylvania Street which is one-way south. From 10th (or further north) move into the right lane and look for the garage sign just south of 9th street on the right/west side. Park in either P1 or P2, keep your ticket with you, and proceed to the 2nd floor (marked “Library” in the elevators.) As you exit the parking garage elevators on level 2, you are entering the Atrium. Veer to your right to find the sign-in table, the pits, and the rest of the event spaces further in. Your Belongings, Food, & Security There will be a “pit” table with some chairs for each team located in the Atrium. The Library will be open to the public and it would be wise for your team to have a parent or sibling available to watch your pit if/when the team is elsewhere. The Library has security officers and staff who will do their best to keep an eye on the pit area, but they are not responsible for missing items. Lost & Found is on the 1st floor near the 9th street entrance. There is a café located in the Atrium where snacks, drinks, and meals can be purchased. The café vendor, Chef Dan’s, is donating the pizza, apples, and water you will be served for lunch, so any purchase from them is appreciated. Eating and drinking is allowed in the Library as long as you are not at a computer or laptop. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks. Please be aware of others’ space and equipment. Entrance to the Auditorium for Robot Games The main entrance to the auditorium is on the 2nd floor where all of the other event space is located. This entry requires steps down to the stage where the robot games will be located. If your team requires a wheeled cart or needs to enter from flat ground for any reason, there is an additional entrance to the auditorium from the 1st floor near our 9th street entrance. You would go down to level 1 in the elevator, turn right and right again; go through the double doors that look like you will go outside and then turn left to go into the auditorium doors. There should be a volunteer there to help guide you. Please let me know if you have any questions so far.
