The Good, Shepherd. Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall - TopicsExpress

The Good, Shepherd. Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. (Lack) Shepherd is someone who is tending sheep and someone who is providing guidance, someone who is looking out after the well being of others. It refers to Pastors also. Notice the wording when he says the Lord is (my) shepherd. I can have a personal relationship with the Shepherd. He is the good shepherd, He is my shepherd. He will provide guidance for me and you and He cares about my well being. Look at the word (want): a feel or a need or desire something, a lack of something. He will lead me in the best and safest places where the grass is the greenest and the water is calmest. God wants to give you the desires of your heart. It is His will to bless you and prosper you and that for you to be in good health. God will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37: 4 delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desire of your heart. Delight means the enjoyment of God and the pleasure of God. So do you enjoy the presents of the Lord? Do you take pleasure in Him? Is He your desire? I believe that in order for God to give you the desires of your heart, you first have to make Him your heart’s desire. Psalms 42:1 as the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for you, oh God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. The word pant means to long for, or yearning for. John 10:10 Jesus is the good shepherd. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. Superabundance life, excessive life, overflowing life, surplus in my life so I can bless others, over and above in my life. More than enough. In Genesis God made everything and declared that it was good. He gave this plentiful earth to Adam. Adam had dominion over all of it. God’s plan from the beginning was for us to have an enriched prosperous abundant life. Jesus came to recover and to restore to man what the Father’s intent is and to block the devils intent to hinder our receiving it. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Phil 4:19 and my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. He can fill to the full of every need that you have if you trust Him. First you have to believe that He can do what He says He can do. Here he refers also to (My) God. The only way to completely realize this truth is to have a personal relationship with Him. Can you actually say He is (my) God, He is (my) Shepherd are you truly completely trusting in Him for your health, your finances and for every need you have. Psalm 34: 8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Taste: to discern, perceive that the Lord is good, discernment is the capacity to choose and delight in good things.
