The Greens are right! Nowhere do science, ethics and public policy - TopicsExpress

The Greens are right! Nowhere do science, ethics and public policy interact and conflict more in a sea of scientific uncertainty more than in the expanding field of biotechnology, which seeks to monopolize, commodify and commercialize the products of genetic research and manipulation of our gene pool for the benefit of especially seed companies such as Monsanto through the intermediary of greedy, selfish leaders and non-independent scientists worldwide. Emphasis: the raw material needed for such commodification do not belong to biotechnology corporations but reside within the living human genome, agroecological farming systems, and natural resources traditionally owned and utilized by indigenous peoples and in humankinds precious biotic heritage. It is a corrupt, bankrupt, unethical, immoral industry just interested in making money at the expense of humans and whole systems. Unfortunately ICC does not regard it yet as crime against humanity the same way it does not regard environmental crime as crime against humanity.
