The Grow Local campaign (a Queensland Conservation initiative) commenced over 4 years ago with the immediate vision of the campaign being: A community movement growing food in gardens and local streets, established in every suburb A network of community gardens able to service every suburb and community Markets selling local food are the primary source for fresh produce in the region The establishment of a Queensland Department of Healthy Food to coordinate policy, regulation and future strategic direction towards establishing a healthy and sustainable food culture in Queensland. Over the past four years we have seen considerable changes in consumer attitudes towards the growing and purchasing of local produce, and an increase in the establishment of community gardens and farmers markets throughout Queensland....Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance started the process of producing The People’s Food Plan (see below link for more information), which is an ongoing process. australianfoodsovereigntyalliance.org/peoples-food-plan/ qldconservation.org.au/grow-local-campaign-update/
