The Guardian reports on Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah’s detailed action plan for positively transforming Anambra State, if elected come November 16. WITH the Anambra State governorship election barely nine days away, the Labour Party (LP) standard bearer, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, has restated his action plans and manifestoes for the citizens of the state. The eight-point plan, which he has tabled before the citizens of the 177 communities of the state, were drawn up because they are seen as realistic and achievable, according to a statement issued by his campaign organisation. Ubah assured that security of lives and property would be top on his agenda because it is an ingredient necessary for the economy of the state to thrive. The LP candidate affirmed his resolve to revive and reform the education sector, while he would implement capacity building and training of youths to empower them with necessary skills to fight youth unemployment. Ubah pledged to unleash an economic revolution to harness the drive and entrepreneurial spirit of the state’s citizens while also revitalising the agriculture sector and jealously protect the natural ecosystem/ environment. On health, the oil magnate revealed his plans to provide world-class healthcare to end the current huge inequality in the sector by way of bringing to the barest minimum infant/maternal deaths and upgrading other healthcare infrastructure. The LP standard bearer added that his administration, if voted into power, would “reform government businesses to ensure transparency and accountability in all sectors, while also engaging indigenes in the Diaspora in discussion on the need for them to invest in Anambra to initiate steady and positive economic growth of the state.
