The Gunners crashed out of the Capital One Cup as they slipped to - TopicsExpress

The Gunners crashed out of the Capital One Cup as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea on Tuesday night, a result which came on the back of last weeks Champions League loss to Borussia Dortmund at the Emirates Stadium. Sandwiched in between was a victory away at Crystal Palace in the Premier League, but the defeats against Chelsea and Dortmund have led to suggestions Arsenal cannot cut it against the top teams. However Wenger has blasted such claims and is refusing to panic. Lets not reach a conclusion too quickly, Wenger said after the clash. I think if you take the points we have made since January 1, its more than everybody else. I believe that, over a longer distance, youll see more of the quality of the team than in the last two games. It is true that it is difficult to swallow what happened to us in the last week, but as well the mistakes are so big that they can be corrected. We have to keep the basis of our game and go into the next one with that and get those mistakes out [of our system].
