The HSE did have high’vis’ campaign some years ago but it was the subject of cuts to its budget yet asbestos fibres are hse.gov.uk/statistics/overall/hssh1213.pdf, yet asbestos is still common place despite being supposedly banned. It’s deadly, the HSE @ “hse.gov.uk/statistics/overall/hssh1213.pdf” page 6 Work-related ill health Fatal diseases states “in 2011, there were 2291 mesothelioma deaths caused by past exposure to asbestos.” That is in all probability more than the total killed on roads in the same year. Many seem to believe as asbestos is banned there therefor no longer a problem but it can still be found in and around most building including home, work, leisure, entertainment etc... This is basically because of lack of government support (financial or otherwise) for its systematically removal, yet it’s safe removal is essential because asbestos breaks down over time becoming an even bigger problem.
