The Happy Hour was great fun. Many thanks to Lisa for being our hostess! We had a great turn out and hit somewhere in the mid 40s or so for attendance. We had expected the space to lend itself better to mixing and mingling, but it didnt work out as fluid as we had hoped. Never mind though, we still had great fun, great beer and some very unique pizzas. We have a fabulous women, Karen, who is going to host our Dec Thirsty Thursday, and she is happy to hear suggestions on places to hold it. The criteria is (1) serves drinks, (2) serves decent food, preferably really good food, as many of us eat dinner while at happy hour, (3) encourages women to be standing up as much, or more than sitting down, (4) is fairly centrally located and (5) strong preference given to locally owned and operated businesses that keeps the profits, not just workers wages, supporting Dayton and local communities. So if you have any suggestions that meet the above, you can either email them to info@lesbiandayton, or comment here or fb message it. Go ahead and put Dec 5 on your calendar. We also have 2 more fabulous women who have committed to hosting January and February Thirsty Thursdays and one who is talking about March, so keep those ideas of great locations coming! We want to share the wealth and visit multiple places around town rather than just get into a rut of having it at the same place all the time. We can, however, return to places we really liked, so if it has been a month or two, we surely can revisit.
