The Harris County Sheriffs Office responds to over 4,500 aggressive animal calls each year. The HCSO is investigating a dog shooting that took place in Bay Area Park on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015. The man who shot the dog told deputies he felt threatened by the large dog and shot the animal. We are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident. Once our investigation comes to a close, the findings will be presented to the Harris County District Attorneys Office for a decision on whether or not to accept charges. All of us play an active and important role in keeping our community safe by being responsible pet owners.
