WARANGAL, May 3, 2014 ‘Telangana will offer more opportunities for growth’ Media urged to act in an unbiased manner The new State of Telangana would offer more opportunities for growth, particularly in the media sector, said veteran journalist G. V. Varadachary. However, mediapersons should act in an unbiased manner and establish their credibility among the masses. “Several veteran journalists and newspaper publishers faced problems such as financial difficulties and harassment by rulers in the discharge of their duties to society. M.S. Acharya of Warangal was one among these personalities in Telangana,” Mr Varadachary said. He was delivering the first endowment lecture in memory of M.S. Acharya here at Kakatiya University on Friday. Role lauded The lecture was instituted by Acharya’s sons, M. Rajagopala Chary, a retired professor of English and Madabhushi Sridhar, Central Information Commissioner. Central Information Commissioner, Mr M. Sridhar, who worked for Janadharma published by his father, MS Acharya, turned emotional while recalling his association with him. “It was my father Acharya who first wrote an editorial on the need for separate Telangana way back in 1960 and he made serious efforts to put pressure on the government with his writings for establishment of Kakatiya University,” he said. The university Vice-Chancellor B.
