The House barely misses passing a bill to defund NSA surveillance - TopicsExpress

The House barely misses passing a bill to defund NSA surveillance on US citizens that was intensely lobbied against by the Defense Industry, Republican and Democratic leadership, and the Administration. A week later "chatter" has us close down the US State Department operations in the Muslim world (Sure). I listened to Cokie Roberts dismiss the importance of this on NPR, while puttering on about how Immigration and Obamacare reform will cause "orchestration" of town hall meetings now that the Congress is going home for a few weeks - I took this as trying to defuse the anger those members will hear about my government turning into the DDR. F You, US Government. I will never, ever vote for anyone who ever supports another bill funding the Patriot Act and/or the NSA. Support a true American hero: Edward Snowden.
