The IMPORTANT NEWS - there is man dealing with a very difficult case of lung rejection at Duke University right now. Please join me in giving him encouragement that no matter how hard this seems, it can be overcome. Remind him to take it one day at a time, one moment at time, like eating an elephant - one bite at a time. Take the enormity of the problem and break it into manageable chunks. Days, hours, minutes, moments, whatever it is. Maybe positive words of encouragement become those moments. Maybe Discussions turn those minutes into hours. He has never felt sorry for himself, pitied his situation or taken help he didnt need. Even when his lungs were bad, he went to work as a 911 dispatcher in wheelchair just to make sure he was there to ensure the public safety. Hes a REAL hero to all of us on a daily basis, we just dont get to hear about it. Let him know that we need real HEROs like Michael Kiem around to protect us and get us the help we need on a daily basis. Think about where this society would be without 911.
