The International Blue Cross and Blue Crescent (IBC) is a worldwide, non-profit, charitable, non-governmental, politically and religiously neutral humanitarian movement, comprising a number of humanitarian response agencies. We operate the International Federation of Blue Cross and Blue Crescent Societies (IFBC) a non-governmental humanitarian agency that reaches out through its 198 National Societies throughout the world. Each national society is made up of a strong volunteer-led network that acts before, during and after disasters and health emergencies to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people, and are committed to ~saving life and changing lives without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. Our community-based volunteers help reduce vulnerabilities, strengthen resilience and and help to create a safer world, supporting the public authorities in their own countries as independent auxiliaries to the government in the humanitarian field.
