The Islamic Legacy of Spain A Special Lecture by Ambassador Eduardo Busquets Director General of Casa Arabe Ambassador Akbar Ahmed, the Ibn Khaldun Chair of Islamic Studies at American University, is delighted to invite you to a special lecture by the distinguished scholar and diplomat Ambassador Eduardo Busquets titled The Islamic Legacy of Spain on April 8, 2014 from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm in Room 300 of the School of International Service building at American University. Lunch will be served. Ambassador Busquets, Director General of Casa Arabe in Madrid, Spain, will be discussing the legacy and impact of Muslim Spain from the medieval period of Al-Andalus to contemporary Spain amidst the current challenges of immigration from North Africa and issues of security in the post-9/11 era.
