The Kambata take pride in their Ethiopian identity. Though the current political climate in the country generates ethnic mistrust, Kambatas have a positive attitude towards Ethiopia. However, they do complain about some injustices done by successive regimes. Therefore, they desire a considerable effort to be made to develop their culture, language and region. Kambata tend to have strong feelings about their identity. However, there is no demand to the extent of self determination or considering themselves as citizens of only Kambata. They do not treat none-Kambatas as none-citizens. Simply, they feel like citizens of Ethiopia who happen to be Kambata by ethnicity. However, as I observed, the arrogance of some Ethiopians - tracing their origin to The North Ethiopian Christian area - regarding the Kambata is sometimes striking.Thank you!!!
