The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has CLOSED KY 1453/Barkers Mill Road near the 5 mile marker in CHRISTIAN County. This closure point is along KY 1453/Barkers Mill Road just off of KY 115/-Oak Grove-Pembroke Road near the Saint Elmo community. KYTC received a report of an opening in the roadway that turned out to be a sinkhole. Due to approaching darkness today, engineers will have to wait until Wednesday to fully evaluate the site and start planning repairs. Some exploratory drilling could be required at the site to determine the extent of the sinkhole and help with development of a repair strategy. Until a full evaluation of the sinkhole can be completed, KY 1453 will remain closed at this site.
