The Koch owned Cato Institute published a report that roughly says, The poor dont really have it that bad when you look at consumer goods. Cato and The Heritage Foundation are think-tanks operated by the rich to tell journalists and politicians how to frame their reporting and policy. We see it from the Indiana Policy Review and Cecil Bohanon as well. Sometimes our libertarian, Michel Hicks, promotes the same thing in Gannetts rag. Its all patronizing bullshit - painting the poor as lazy, drug ridden, welfare cheating, lacking morals, jealous of our money, etc. Indianas politicians have jumped on the anti-poor rhetoric because they are owned by the Koch brothers - brothers who drink Tea. They are all part of the super majority of Tea Partiers who were elected to fight the black president - white supremacist patriots. It starts with a belief. Then, they pay academic shills to write research papers and OpEd letters which support those beliefs. Then, the politicians use the rhetoric to talk on Fox News and write policies. Its a scam! The Economist was writing about an article in the Washington Post whose author was falling for the Cato Institute crapple.
