The Kurdish people are not Persian (Iranian). Present day Kurds are descendents of the ancient Medes. The ancient Medes established their Median kingdom with Ecbatana as their royal centre. Ecbatana was the capital of Media. The city was founded in about 678 bc by the semilegendary Deioces, who was the first king of the Medes. A number of words from the Median language are still in use,The site of the ancient city lof Medea lies partly within the modern city of Hamadān - west-central Iran, situated at the northeastern foot of Mount Alvand (11,716 feet [3,571 metres]) in Hamadān ostān (province). Itself at an elevation of 6,158 feet (1,877 metres), the city dominates the wide, and has never been excavated. When the Kurds gain their full independence and sovereignty , they need to excavate the ancient city of Medea, to reclaim their ancient heritage.
