The LSO has a long and distinguished history in recording film - TopicsExpress

The LSO has a long and distinguished history in recording film scores, starting with the very first score specially written for a film (Arthur Bliss Things to Come), through some of the biggest franchises in film history (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Superman), to the most recent blockbusters (Zero Dark Thirty, Rise of the Guardians, Jack Ryan). On Sunday 1 December 2013 at the Barbican Centre in London well be celebrating one of our most recent relationships - with the composer Patrick Doyle. The concert will be extra special as we will be celebrating Patricks 60th birthday, and were excited to be joined on stage by Patricks friends and colleagues, the actors Emma Thompson and Derek Jacobi, and by his children to perform songs and readings from the films that the scores accompany.
