The Lib Dems Affordable Housing Bill has passed in the Commons by a margin of 25! This measure is intended to grant immunity to people from Bedroom Tax unless they can be found a smaller home. This is good news but wed just like to make 2 points. 1) The fact that this Bill had to be written is essentially an admission that BT this was never about welfare reform, instead just a way to victimise the disadvantaged. 2) The Lib Dems voted in favour of BT and its taken 17 months for them to decide its a bad idea. We see this as a blatant act of headline grabbing damage control to attempt to offset the huge hammering in the polls they deserve come the election.
