The Light Of The City, When Faith becomes Sight This evening I shared a story with a group of Chaplains. A story that describes the ministry God has trusted to me. Several months ago a patient was in the ICU at the hospital in an unresponsive state. Her husband was worn out from being by her side for more than 24 hours and it was suggested for him to go home get a shower and rest for a bit. I was called by one of our nurses to come to the ICU and on arrival we decided we needed to call the husband back to the hospital. Upon his arrival to the ICU it was evident that his wife would soon depart this life and he leaned over her bedside and said, Baby I know you are about to leave me, please tell Jesus when you get there we need some help down here. He then asked for me to pray and it was hard to do so with the lump I felt in my throat. As I begin to pray not long into the prayer this lady that is not responding lifts up and looks into the corner of the room and says, Praise God there is an angel in this room. After hearing her say this the lump in my throat got to be the size of a watermelon as I tried to continue my prayer. As I was coming to the close of the prayer she lifted her hands as if she was reaching out to someone and said, Glory to God, the Light Of The City is here. She soon put her hand in His and was carried to the City of God. She walked her life in faith and her faith became sight. Heaven is REAL!! Chaplain Danny V. Ray
