The London, KY CMS site hosted an Employee Appreciation in October to thank the dedicated employees for its service to Serco and hard work ethic. This was the site that was recognized by the local paper, the Sentinel-Echo, as the Best Place to Work in the city. Nearly 650 people were in attendance as employees and family members came to celebrate. Also in attendance were the Mayor Troy Rudder, County Judge Executive David Westerfield, and County Judge Administrative Assistant Kelly Sutton to partake in the celebratory activities and show support for Sercos work for the local community. Karaoke, corn-hole, and inflatable toys for children were among the activities enjoyed throughout the day. A major component to the Employee Appreciation Day was the focus on raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project. Over $1,200 was raised, along with donations to the local homeless shelter and the Laurel London Optimist Club, who lent their facilities to Serco for this event. A Wall of Warriors was constructed at the CMS facility to recognize active and military Veterans, and the local ROTC gave an Old Glory Ceremony and Presentation of the Colors. Matthew Joseph and Brett Bowman, London Serco employees and current servicemen, announced the Presentation of Colors and gave a speech about military families and their value, as well as the sacrifices they make for the good of the entire country. As the day closed, there was a poignant moment where children and their families released balloons into the air in honor of their loved ones who served in the military. It was a solemn moment and gave everyone pause as they watched the balloons drift into the evening sky, but also a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many.
