“The Lord answered, ‘Him only who has sinned against me will I - TopicsExpress

“The Lord answered, ‘Him only who has sinned against me will I strike out of my book”.(Ex32:33) In this age of liberal ideas and licentiousness, we oftentimes dismiss wrongdoings as something intrinsically human and therefore forgivable. We conveniently forget what we learned early in life from our parents that sin has eternal consequences. We lost all moral scruples and rationalize sinful conduct as a by-product of exposure to modernity. And so for some, accusing the world of owing him/her something, took their lives with their own hands none too fearful of what happens to their souls. Worse, there are people yet sick of mind, heart and soul who think nothing of their fellowmen and bomb them out of human existence. We steal the people’s money, depriving them of decent means for livelihood and we have the gall yet to present ourselves for re-election. There’s so much depravity of thoughts and sense of right and wrong that everything we do can be justified as socially acceptable – the people simply don’t care. But somebody does care; He who possesses the Book of Life, who has power over life and death. God is fully aware of every sin, great and small and even as He is the God of mercy, He is also the God of Justice. May we be found in the list as someone deserving of life. Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me even if he dies, will live and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die”.(Jn11:25-26)
