The Lord asked Noah to do something crazy: build a giant boat with no rain in the forecast. He was growing tired of the wickedness of the world and Noah was the only one who had been faithful to God. So what did God do? He asked Noah to be even more faithful. You see, faithfulness never has a finish line. Faithfulness isn’t like a video game that has a last level with a final enemy you must defeat. To be a follower of Jesus requires daily faithfulness. When someone approaches me with a desire to be baptized, I always remind them that baptism is a one-time event that should reflect a daily decision: to make Jesus the Lord over your life. Let’s all endeavor to grow in our faithfulness to the One who always remains faithful to us!
