The Lords Prayer no6: GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD - God cares about us! Through the Person and Work of Jesus we see it best. In asking for physical food for this day, we confess that we do not have the ability to be in control of tomorrow. As Jesus Himself says in Matt 625 that we need not worry about life and what we will eat or drink, for God knows we need these things. And in asking for today, we come and actually confess our dependency on God. I do not have to be anxious about it, or about the future, because He says that He has the ability to provide through rain and drought, through plenty and few! We remind ourselves that all things come from him. But we also see that God cares about our physical bodies, and wants us to be satisfied with the blessing and provision we need. We ask, and take responsibility to live healthy, to rest well, to eat only what is needed for today. And so we find joy and peace as we ask for the daily needs, from food to strength to wisdom. He loves to provide as we Daily stay dependent on Jesus.
