The MRS in action in Decatur today at three! Wildlife director - TopicsExpress

The MRS in action in Decatur today at three! Wildlife director of Chattahoochee Nature Center, Kathryn Dudeck will give her CRITTERS IN THE HOOD talk starting at 3pm. The location is in Decatur at the International Community School (formerly Medlock Elementary) at Medlock and Wood Trail Rds 30033. Come find out about local wildlife, see some critters up close (maybe pet a snake), and ask Kathryn your burning, critter-related questions. The 5th graders at ICS will be having a bake sale (2-4p) so come hungry! ICS is also collecting winter outerwear for kids and families in need in the school community (any items collected that are not needed by the school community will be donated to the refugee center). The entire event is a fundraiser for the school, so donations are very much appreciated! Kathryn says: “Live critters for today’s presentation will include an Eastern kingsnake (I want everyone to know for sure what those look like!), a Virginia opossum (they love to eat cockroaches, er... Palmetto bugs!) and a Barred Owl. I will cover coyotes, and geese and beaver info has also been requested.”
