The Madonna Like a Virgin... so sang Madonna, a film goddess who made a hit with her songs in the 80s. Do you know Mary the Madonna? She is far from the Madonna who sang like a virgin. The Madonna Im referring to is my mother. MARY is her name. A Jewish girl who came from an obscure village in Jerusalem born to an unknown family. She didnt write a book nor spoke in eloquence before a big throng of people. She had kept her silence following her Creator. Neither did she ever make a name in history as a woman ruler yet she is greatest than any woman who reigned supreme in her time. She owned not a single diamond ring but she owns the greatest fortune for she is the mother of the universe. She is a woman of ezemplary virtues. My mother, yiur motherm everyoness mother. I am a product of today, a person of the modern time yet in all humility and truth I admit I am hot even wirthy to be her child. I am trying to be a good one in my own little way, in my unique simple manner. Praying to her morw frequently strengthens me in my commitment to follow her ways. Mary is a woman of sevice, a person who was selfless, a reafy assistant to her aging cousin. To serve and to be available for anyone in need is a virtue I find truly inviting to emulate. It delights one to do little odd jobs for anyone in need. Like my model, the Madonna, one must find every occasion an event to grow in love. Above all one must prove what our faith upholds and dissuades oneself from unbecoming manner both harmful to the community and to oneself. We all know that more than anything else, now is the time for us to move, to let Mary be known through us. Mary is my mother. She is your mother. Let us all be like her, a true Marian in our own little way.
