The Magic Johnson Foundation in partnership with the Dr. Mae Jemison Foundation will be hosting The Earth We Share (TEWS) Space Race Science Camps for students in grades 4-8 starting June 17th - July 31st, 2013 at Curtiss Middle School located at 1254 East Helmick Street, Carson, CA 90746 During the one week day camps students will solve problems like “Design a mission to the sun”, “Design a space-based remote sensing system to improve health in the least developed countries on Earth” and “What are we going to do for food on the way to Alpha Centuri?”. It boosts student achievement in science while they get up close and personal with the aviation, space flight and exploration and learn where careers in these fields can take them.
