The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) under the calm, reasoned leadership of Shri Raj Thakre Ji has vandalised toll plaza offices in Mumbai and Nagpur. In further news, they have threatened the CEO of Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) with MNS style action if a couple of admittedly outrageous charges are not immediately reversed. Now, I understand that those who travel to or live in Mumbai would be greatly relieved if said charges were reversed, because they are very high and serve practically no purpose that justifies their quantum. However, I would rather pay those high charges and accept a calm, friendly city than witness cocky, lawless goons openly threaten people and live with the uneasy fear that if the fancy should take them, they could turn up at my house and bash me up though I remain strictly within the bounds of constitutional legality. This dangerous mindset is sadly getting replicated under an insidious, calmer front elsewhere in the country, too. I hope better sense prevails.
