The Maori of New Zealand do this for funerals, kinda like a homecoming back to sacred ground, back to the beginning, back home. This is what plays in my head with every American soldier who comes home this way. Silence is golden for the masses, but the honoring of a soldier among other soldiers, brothers I believe this to be more fitting, not only does it show honor, but can grieve at the same time. Then feel focused right after.
