The Medical College of Wisconsins Summer Programs provide research opportunities for undergraduate college students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in medicine and biomedical science, including individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, individuals from underrepresented cultural and ethnic groups, and individuals with disabilities. The Office of Student Affairs/Diversity at the Medical College of Wisconsin will again offer ourundergraduate summer enrichmentprogram for students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in medicine and biomedical research. The Diversity Summer Health-related Research Education Program (DSHREP) will give students an excellent opportunity to explore research in the Milwaukee Metropolitan area. DSHREP is a 10-week summer program supported through an R25 research education grant funded by National Heart, Lung, Blood Institute (NHLBI), an agency of National Institutes of Health (NIH). All research is conducted by MCW faculty, focusing on cardiovascular, hematological, and pulmonary diseases. Interested students should be available from May 28, 2014 to August 1, 2014.
