The Mercy Tenderness And Love Of Our Heavenly Father Is Steadfast And Not Does Not Change Because Of Circumstances The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. (Ps. 23:1) My Shepherd Will Supply My Need - https://youtube/watch?v=yzARLyXJjec What a powerful message from the Lord. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. (Ps. 23:1). How many of us really believe that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory? This morning the Lord is reminding us that He will take care of us. By the way, who do you believe has been taking care of you so far? Your Husband? Your Parents? Who provided you the food you ate yesterday? Who gave you that job? Who gave you good success in your recent exams? Who protected you from harm and danger while you travel of the roads yesterday? Our Heavenly Father commissioned His angels to watch over us and protect us from harm and danger. Unfortunately, some of us feel that God is not taking care of us because we don’t seem to be getting any answers for our prayers. Nothing seems to be working out for us and we conclude that God is not taking care of us. For others we feel that God is not there or we would not have tragedy in our family. Why didn’t God cure that terminal illness in my Mother’s body? Why didn’t he protect my brother from that fatal accident? This morning the Lord is reminding us that He is loving and compassionate even when the circumstances are not favourable to us. His love is not conditional. The Love of God is steadfast and unchanging. If there is anyone in this Universe that we can depend on to watch out for us, that person is God. Jesus never fails. His compassions are new every morning. Great is the faithfulness of God. Examine carefully what Jesus said during the Sermon on the Mount. In Matt. 6:25-34 Jesus said, “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Here the Lord is advising us to stop worrying about the things that we need. He already knows what we need and will supply what we need. Look carefully at the counsel that He provides. We must seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness FIRST. Then leave the rest to Him. He will add unto us what we really need. You see God is more interesting in developing a relationship with Him so that we can experience His compassion and loving-kindness… He wants to also recreate Him image in us as well. I pray that we will keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. In viewing the holiness and glory of the God of the universe, we are terrified; for we know that his justice will not permit him to clear the guilty. But we need not remain in terror; for Christ came to the world to reveal the character of God, to make plain to us his paternal love toward his adopted children. We are not to estimate the character of God by the stupendous works of nature alone, but by the simple, lovely life of Jesus, who presented Jehovah as more merciful, more compassionate, more tender, than our earthly parents. Jesus presented the Father as one to whom we could give our confidence and present our wants. When we are in terror of God, and overwhelmed with the thought of his glory and majesty, the Father points us to Christ as his representative. What you see revealed in Jesus of tenderness, compassion, and love, is the reflection of the attributes of the Father. The cross of Calvary reveals to man the love of God. Christ represents the Sovereign of the universe as a God of love. By the mouth of the prophet he said, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee. We have access to God through the merits of the name of Christ, and God invites us to bring to him our trials and temptations; for he understands them all. He would not have us pour out our woes to human ears. Through the blood of Christ we may come to the throne of grace, and find grace to help in time of need. We may come with assurance, saying, My acceptance is in the Beloved. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. As an earthly parent encourages his child to come to him at all times, so the Lord encourages us to lay before him our wants and perplexities, our gratitude and love. Every promise is sure. Jesus is our Surety and Mediator, and has placed at our command every resource, that we may have a perfect character. The blood of Christ in ever-abiding efficacy is our only hope; for through his merits alone we have pardon and peace. When the efficiency of the blood of Christ becomes a reality to the soul through faith in Christ, the believer will let his light shine forth in good works, in bringing forth fruits unto righteousness. (Youth’s Instructor, September 22, 1892 – Ellen G. White) Though men have sinned grievously, they are not forsaken. The Hand that upholds the world, upholds and strengthens the weakest and most sinful human being. The great Master Artist, whose skill is infinitely beyond the skill of any human being, who gives to the lily of the field its delicate and beautiful tints, and who cares for the little sparrow, cares also for His children. The care bestowed by Heaven on any given object is proportionate to the place occupied by this object in the scale of creation. If the flower is given a beauty that outvies the glory of Solomon, what can be the estimate that God places on His purchased heritage? Christ points us to the care bestowed on the things that wither in a day, to show us how much love God must have for the beings created in His own image. He desires every mind to grasp this precious truth. He opens before us the volume of providence, and bids us behold the names written therein. In this volume every human being has a page, on which are written the events of his life. And from the mind of God these names are never absent for a moment. Wonderful indeed are Gods love and care for the beings He has created. (Signs of the Times, October 10, 1900 – Ellen G. White)
