The Ministry of Being a Residential Waste Collector (garbage man). - TopicsExpress

The Ministry of Being a Residential Waste Collector (garbage man). I never expected to find so much joy in being a trash man. The lessons I am learning are so good, I must share them. 1. Humility: I always smile and greet everyone I meet. They then try to smile back and most do. But only after subconsciously covering their face to avoid the stank odor. I do appreciate the efforts of those who bear the stench and greet me back. I have become immune to pungency. But it is my responsibility to pick up the trash that people dont want anymore. My daily life consists of literally handling, all day long, week-old garbage. I help people get rid of the stuff they dont want. Imagine not being able to remove your garbage. How much garbage would accumulate? I remove 9 tons of trash daily. I also have many opportunities to interact with people who need the service of a smiling trash man. That is serving the community! And, yes, I have talked about the atoning death of Jesus Christ and the salvation that provides from the immenant judgment from God. Its not the cleanest job in the world. But it is a great service to the community! And it provides as a great teacher of humility! Thank you, Lord, for this job.
