The Missisquoi Delta and Bay Wetlands have been designated as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. The first in Vermont, the designation encompasses nearly 8,000 acres, and includes the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge. The wetland is an important habitat for over 200 bird species and provides breeding habitat for numerous species of waterfowl, passerines, raptors, and wading birds. bit.ly/1kSr55w
