The Morning Sun © 1-11-15 Michael Lyzenga The days without you here just grow longer And nothing in my heart says it’s true And still the dreams of yesterday that linger in my mind Tell me there is still and me and you And drifting off to sleep I see your blue eyes And in the night I wonder where you are I feel the warmth of you surround me It stays beside my bed in a jar And when I see the morning sun rise in the sky It gives me hope… that there’s still a you and I And every day that passes with you gone… I hope the morning sun knows it’s wrong The widow next door reaches for the paper I see her walking back inside her home I know the love she had for the man who held her heart Wishes that he weren’t already gone And she makes his coffee every day at seven And sends him off to work with a kiss And in her mind the love of her life will come back home And her hours are spent waiting for this And I just sit and stare out the window And watch the day slowly pass me by And sometimes I forget that I’m still all alone And sometimes I forget how to cry And when I see the morning sun rise in the sky It gives me hope… that there’s still a you and I And every day that passes with you gone… I hope the morning sun knows it’s wrong Yes I hope the morning sun knows it’s wrong
