The Mothers’ Cry for Sovereignty A Vigil of Mothers at the Prime Minister’s House Beginning Sunday, 2 Adar, February 2, 2014 To the Mothers of Israel, The Left tries to alarm and frighten the people of Israel with the prospect of isolation, economic sanctions, and boycotts, and constantly attempts to impose the ‘Two-State’ plan upon us. But the Jewish people are wise. The people have had enough of ceding parts of our homeland, enough kassams and grad missiles. The people have had enough of the Left’s lies - as if the establishment of a Palestinian state a stone-throw away from Ben Gurion Airport would bring about peace ! In the coming days, we choose not to remain silent in the face of political attrition and international pressure. We, mothers of families in Israel, have decided to abandon the daily routines of our lives, to leave our homes in order to sit outside the Prime Minister’s house and tell him: Fear not and do not falter. The people of Israel are strong. The people want to cling to the only land that we have. There is a realistic, Zionist option, which is the application of Israeli sovereignty over Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley. The application of sovereignty is our only ethical option, because this Land is ours. By standing for our principles, we will win the esteem of the Israeli people and the world. The application of sovereignty will fill the existing vacuum, and will put an end to the futile and dangerous hopes for a Palestinian state on the soil of the Land of Israel. Why have a vigil? To our friends who think that vigils and protests are not effective: 1. The agreements have not yet been sealed. It is still possible to block them. 2. The whole world uses these tools of protest to bring about change – by going out into the streets. 3. Unlike the Left, which is supported with millions of dollars by the enemies of Israel, we don’t have budgets for expensive campaigns. We must use the resources at our disposal – our bodies, our spirits, our faith in the justice of our cause. 4. To those who placate themselves by thinking that there will be no agreement because the Arabs will not agree – we say that we must not depend on miracles. 5. As mothers, we have responsibility for future generations. We want to be the spark that will awaken the public, a significant part of which is not aware of the terrible agreements that are being devised behind closed doors. 6. Remaining at home will certainly not help. As we enter the months of Adar and then Nissan we are reminded by the Purim and Pesach narratives of the strength of women and the change they can effect. Women bring life, devote themselves to continuity and guard what is dear to them, as lionesses guard their cubs. Thus, G-d willing, we will join together to guard over the Land of Israel. You will find us at the Prime Minister’s house (please G-d) starting next Sunday, the second day of Adar Aleph, February 2, 2014 between the hours of 9:00 am and 9:00pm. Each of us will come for as long she can, some for a few days, some for a few hours. Join us and bring your family and friends. Please make this email go viral. The mothers vigil is initiated and organized by Women in Green, with the support of Professors for a Strong Israel and Mattot Arim
