The Mountaintop by Katori Hall has been an incredible ride- the work is absolutely breakthrough and calls for so much from the Actors. Its exciting and nerve rocking, extreme and tender at the same time. As we head into our final four shows I meditate on this extraordinary art-form which I have dedicated my life... Theatre as a medium calls on every piece of me - Past Present and remarkably Future. For me acting involves a massive amount of self knowledge and understanding. The intellect, body, heart and soul all intertwine to produce a performance. One of my favourite TED talks sprung to mind- it speaks to the process of theatre so well. So many Actors are perfectionist, highly critical of themselves and their work. The Industry is tough and many folks buckle under the pressure- infact we all do at one stage or another. Yet the art and the emotion and vulnerability needed to portray another form (human or otherwise) shows our strength and our absolute love for humanity.
