The Museum of Extraordinary Things is #15 on the printed NYTimes - TopicsExpress

The Museum of Extraordinary Things is #15 on the printed NYTimes Bestsellers List today! In Inside the List they mention the film I wrote Independence Day -- it was Dianne Wiests first film. When she came to auction I was in the room. She blew everyone away -- and we all knew she was the one and that she would be the star that she became (she was also in another film of one of my books) The Times refers to Pauline Kael loving the film -- she did -- but she was on vacation from The New Yorker when it came out -- and when she came back she tried to save the film by writing a fab review -- months after it came out -- the film disappeared alas, but happily Dianne Wiest became a star.
