The NASA space probes Dawn and New Horizons have been in flight - TopicsExpress

The NASA space probes Dawn and New Horizons have been in flight for a collective 17 years headed to the dwarf planets Ceres and Pluto respectively. At the time of these probes’ departures, Ceres had just lost its designation as the largest asteroid in our Solar System. Pluto was the ninth planet. Both probes now stand to deliver measures of new data and insight that could spearhead yet another revision of the definition of planet. The arrival date of New Horizons at Pluto is July 14, 2015, and Dawn will reach Ceres in April 2015. universetoday/117291/2015-nasas-year-of-the-dwarf-planet/? ~Kat
